Their home-state licence is only part of the check. Ask what lets them treat someone sitting in Florida.
Registration has its own public record
Florida’s public list names those registered for online care while based in another state.
It includes their licence back home, Florida number and past board action.
The person registered for this route must put a clear link to their state record on their website.
Florida gives them a letter and a registration number. Registering this way does not give them a Florida professional licence.
Remote registration has limits
To apply, they need an active licence elsewhere with no restrictions. There must have been no action against their licence in the past five years.
They also need insurance or other financial backing to pay claims if their care harms a patient outside their home state. Here, a claim means a demand for payment for that harm.
Ask whether that protection includes online care for patients in Florida.
This Florida online-care route does not let them open an office here or give in-person care.
Keep the next visit in mind
Ask how an exam in a room would be arranged if it is needed. Ask who will keep the records and answer later questions.
If you travel, tell the service where you will be before the next visit. State permission depends on where care reaches the patient.
