Where to raise a concern in Florida
The right office depends on whether the concern is about a professional, a facility or a business practice.
A concern about the person treating you or a pharmacy
Florida’s Department of Health takes complaints about licensed health professionals and pharmacies.
The usual complaint must be in writing and signed. Filing costs nothing. You may still pay for copies of your records.
The department can act on a licence. It cannot get your fees back or handle ordinary bill and refund disputes.
A health facility concern
The Agency for Health Care Administration, or AHCA, takes complaints about health facilities it oversees.
Its page has a route for licensed facilities. It has another for facilities working without a required licence.
Some practices do not need this clinic licence. A missing licence alone does not prove a practice broke the rule.
Misleading ads or unfair business practices
Florida’s Attorney General takes concerns about false ads, scams and unfair business practices.
What you send on its forms is usually a public record, unless state law protects it.
Use your own words to explain what happened. Keep the advert, receipts and written answers together.
